Sean Keil

PRDC Artistic Director

Sean’s lifelong passion for movement has taken him from jamming in front of the stereo as a kid to a career spanning concert dance, choreography, and artistic direction. He trained with The University of Utah’s Children’s Dance Theater before joining Ballet West’s corps de ballet at just 16 under Bruce Caldwell. His performance career has included work with Repertory Dance Theater, Teresa Chapman Dance, Graham Brown, James Hansen Dance, Stephen Koplowitz, and Movement Forum, as well as touring with ‘Baba’ Chuck Davis, performing in a broad range of guest roles for a wide variety of companies and choreographers, serving as Bené

Arnold’s assistant and working on large-scale productions with Kenny Ortega. Beyond performing, Sean has built an extensive career as a choreographer and educator. His work has been presented at universities, festivals, and by professional companies nationwide, and he has directed both SHIFT Dance Co. and the performing arm of Renaissance Movement. Since he began his teacher training through the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program as a young man he has developed a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of dance artists – opening up the doorway to a fulfilling dance career for them the same way his mentors did for him.
